LEE JEFFRIES

LEE JEFFRIES

LEE JEFFRIES

Lee Jeffries lives in Manchester in the United Kingdom. Close to the professional football circle, this artist starts to photograph sporting events. A chance meeting with a young homeless girl in the streets of London changes his artistic approach forever. As a photographer, Lee Jeffries has set out to focus mostly on portraits, with a fondness for black and white images with a gritty feel. He is very well known for his portraits of homeless people.

REFLECTION

He plays a lot with contrasts, highlighting the dualism of dark and light within his pictures, to the point that the stylistic choice could almost be interpreted as a symbolic choice. Light plays 2 different roles within his images: either it hides everything, covering the subject in a shade of mystery and uncertainty, or it actually does a great job highlighting some details: a certain look, a piece of clothing, a forehead marked by age and heavy work.

The blue water, the crisp, clear bubbles, and the dogs' wave fur makes for an wonderful blend of photographic elements and wonderful composition.

He creating artificial scenes packed with interestingness for many years. After many years,he try to find out what is the minimum needed to tell a story on a new quest. After 7 years of experimenting ,he finally found his form.

REFLECTION
After 7 years of experimenting ,he finally found his form:hyperreal portraits of people looking right into the camera. He simply and directly called it YOU.
Over 9 years that have passed since ,he realised over 400 portraits and all totally the same.
All the models no make-up and an intense gaze is the base content of 'YOU'.

The concept that he has is beautiful and meaningful,I think that he want
exaggerated in comparison to reality ,to shown the extremely realistic in detail of character and the naturalistic.

MARK GRAY

MARK GRAY

MARK GRAY

Mark Gray is one of the leading Australian photographers today, Mark Gray, focuses his art on beautiful landscapes around the world and with the light of his photographs and composition he presents the world through entirely different eyes. He is a completely self-taught photographer, and his art is personification of natural perfection.

When i saw his photography,i curiosity about what makes his photographs so colourful and amazing so i research about it.
He does his moment capturing during different times of the day, as the angle of light changes every second. Most of the times him repeatedly visits the same location, just to capture this difference.
Very important fact in his art is that he does not use any coloured filters and always focuses on the exquisiteness of natural light and does not add any light effects.

His photographs and are made with a panoramic film camera with medium format. This piece of art amongst cameras allows far-fetched detail to be captured, and the outcomes are excellent photographs that can be printed out in large sizes, even over 5 meters wide, and still obtaining its dazzling sharpness and quality.
